Gratitude
We give thanks to the Almighty God for another bountiful year at Healing Homestead! If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, what are you waiting for?! I can’t believe we have been in Tennessee for four years! Mid 2025 we crossed a threshold from infrastructure to maintenance at Healing Homestead. After three and a half years of building the house, barn, roads, fences, coops, hoop house, garden, orchard, solar, and more, I feel as if the hard part is behind us and we can just maintain and garden!
Community
Can you believe we have been building community for over two years? The Homesteader’s Alliance of Lawrence County, TN meets monthly at Healing Homestead. It is a free event for our homesteading community to connect and learn a new skill! This year we will be adding a new food sovereignty segment after our speaker. January we will be learning Winter Survivor Skills. Make sure to join the Facebook group for more information.
Sovereignty
Clearly, God is Sovereign and we aren’t meant to do anything without Him! But, the government doesn’t need to be in my kitchen and that is where Food Sovereignty comes in. There is Tennessee legislation from the Health Department to the Department of Agriculture that thinks they know how to run my kitchen better than I do. I have a problem with that AND I’m doing something about it! Not just for me but for all homesteaders that feel intimidated by big brother’s laws against raw milk, against selling our meat that we’ve raised and butchered. The Cottage Laws need revision and that is what I will be working on with the help of others!
